Founded in 1913, Tetts Jewelers in Bay City, Texas TX has been a respected source for fine jewelry and exclusive gifts. Through four generations, the family has maintained a tradition of quality and dependability.
This flagship of the jewelry industry began with W.F. Tetts in 1908 as Tetts Jewelers and Optometrist. Barbara Rye’s mother Ethel Darby began working for the new Tetts Jewelers in 1913 and Aunt Iris Darby became a partner a short time after. In 1956 Vim X and Barbara Rye purchased all interests in Tetts Jewelers. In 1980 Vim Rye, a registered Jeweler, purchased the old Ben Franklin building, remodeled it, and moved Tetts Jewelers back to its original site. The building effectively combines antiques with modern furnishings to show the beauty it has maintained throughout the years and the traditions continue today with the Rye’s son-in-law and daughter, Wayne and Vicki Rye Head (purchased in 1987) and their son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Sarah Head.
