Everything I need to Know, I Learned from a Diamond

May 21st, 2010 admin No comments

LITTLE DIAMOND LESSONS, INSPIRED BY SCIENCE.

What is it about a loose diamond that inspires us? Their beauty? Their rarity? Is it the way they withstand the elements of nature, and the breakaway of the fashion world? Perhaps we love diamonds because they remind us of ourselves or what we dream to be.

THE HEAT IS ON

A diamond has to go through worlds before it reaches a jeweler’s display case, whether in the form of a diamond engagement ring or diamond earrings. It forms deep beneath the earth under extreme heat and pressure making its way to the surface via volcanic tunnels. In fact, the conditions required for a diamond’s formation are so intense that it took scientists centuries before they could accurately project or mimic them.

The Lesson: Life is an unfolding process. Every stage brings a new learning experience, a new opportunity. So no matter how much heat and pressure you experience in your own life, remember that hard work and patience are always rewarded in the end.

SHOW YOUR TRUE FANCY COLORS.

While colorless diamonds seem to get all the attention, special colored diamonds (called fancy colored diamonds) come in striking and beautiful blues, reds, pinks, and even orange. Very subtle differences in a fancy diamond’s color affect its value tremendously.

The Lesson: We each bring a different “color”; a unique combination of talents, skills, and abilities. Much like color adds tremendous value to fancy colored diamonds; your true colors also add value to life. So don’t be afraid to show them.

WHAT ARE YOU LEAVING BEHIND?

It’s been said that a “diamond is forever” since its carbon chemical structure composes the hardest natural material on the planet. This phrase also adds to the lore and romance of diamonds. The idea that a diamond and diamond solitaire rings will outlast its owner and perhaps be passed along for generations to come makes diamond especially unique.

The Lesson: The legacy you leave behind could be more important than what you ware doing today. Take time to volunteer, give back, and contribute to your community. Create a diamond legacy that will outlast you and live forever.

Life is about lessons. Live, learn and buy diamonds and you will do just fine. Just remember who you learned them from!

Kenleigh got baby Diamond Earrings for her 1st Birthday

January 16th, 2009 admin No comments

My daughter, Kenleigh Elizabeth, had her first birthday this week.  Why being in the jewelry business must the girls in the family get diamonds for all of the special days in the year?

Kenleigh Elizabeth and Her New Diamond Earrings

Kenleigh Elizabeth and Her New Diamond Earrings

Well this being no other, she got diamond earrings to replace the first earrings.  To tell a bit more about Kenleigh, she loves attention.  I mean ALOT of attention.  I mean if you don’t give her attention when she wants it all you see is teeth…I mean all 5 of her teeth followed shortly by a blood curling squeel that will break Waterford Crystal Glassware.  When she says Dadda or BahBah or anything else for that matter you better come a’ runnin!

Now when she is asking for attention, she will give you a show.  Whether it be dancing to Elvis Presley in our Hallmark store or sprint crawling across the Fine Diamond and Jewelry Store, she will put on a show.  She really enjoys re-arranging shelves all over the stores.  And if you don’t like the way she is doing it, she doesn’t care.  Or does she even know?

She is also a very smart baby.  (Must take after her Daddy???)  She enjoys reading books, playing with shapes and working on the computer…really on http://www.diamondscape.com.

Please everyone with her a happy 1st Birthday and I will try to post pics of her first birthday cake experience!
